Cathy had a crush on me in the 11th . I liked her but not romantically , later her brother married into a family that I knew well , small world , makes you count your blessings , Rest In Peace
Kathy and I were friends in high school and continued our friendship at Pembroke State College. Kathy was always friendly and upbeat. I coached Kathy in the Powder Puff football game our junior year. She helped us defeat the Seniors ! She was a great classmate.
Kathy had a wonderful singing voice. She and I entered a talent program that took place in the Rose Garden during high school. She sang, I played guitar. We sang songs like California Dreamin' (Mama's and the Papas), Catch the Wind (Donavan). Enjoyed it. I remember her reading a part in a play in Mr. Hamlet's English class that called for a cockney accent. She nailed it. Thanks Kathy for the memories and smiles.
So sorry to know Kathy died. Too soon . We were friends in school. Sometimes ate lunch And laughed a lot. After I got out of the Navy and completed college we met again and she signed up for one of my exercise classes when I was a personal trainer at the European Health Spa in Raleigh off six forks road. My mom and brother were also health instructors there too. Anyway I helped Kathy get in to a healthy lifestyle. She really worked hard at it. Then when I left the company we lost touch again. She was a fun person I remember and I can’t believe she is gone. I don’t know what happened to her but she is content now with GOD. I said a prayer to her.
